Commercial customers of all sizes are eligible to participate in demand response programs offered by their local utility. Your business can earn incentives for reducing energy use during times of peak demand and helping to reduce carbon emissions and strain on the electric grid. There are a variety of ways you can participate. All you have to do is reduce your energy use when prompted by the utility. This can mean manually turning off lights and equipment, or using automatic controls to do it for you.
Or, if you have on-site storage, the utility can draw energy stored in your battery, allowing you to earn incentives while you maintain a back-up supply of energy if needed.
